Location: Atlanta, GA onsite

This role is responsible for delivery of information systems and/or technology services in support of business areas, which may include applications, networks, databases, etc. This will involve development, deployment and maintenance of applications that utilize several different technologies that are used to support business analytics and reporting functions.
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
  • Performs hands-on design and development within big data and BI technology platforms to implement business needs.
  • Maintains active relationships with customers to determine business requirements, leads requirement and design review meetings.
  • Collaborates with developers and data engineers to ideate creative design approaches for implementing solutions.
  • Trouble-shooting and resolution of production issues, and implementation of alternatives across enterprise initiatives.
  • Addresses risks and implements contingency plans.
  • Partners with business, architecture and infrastructure to develop service level agreements to ensure consistency and customer satisfaction.
  • Supervises the preparation of designs and technical and/or functional specifications.
  • Mentors others on coding standards and performs code reviews.
  • Supervises others on developing application internals for usability, reliability and scalability requirements.
  • Ensures system testing is complete, meets the test plan requirements and implemented according to plan.
  • Provides consultation for integration activities with other IT groups to ensure successful implementation and support of project efforts.
  • Assesses current status and supports project planning efforts.
  • Designs and evaluates detailed design components with high-level architecture blue prints.
  • Provides guidance on vendor evaluations and provides strategic direction based on evaluations.
Qualifications
  • Requires a bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field or technical institute training and 8+ years related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
  • 3+ years of experience leading project teams.
  • Experience with multiple analytics and Business Intelligence tools required.
  • 2-5 years hands on experience with Hadoop and related technologies using Cloudera distribution, preferably Hive, HBase, Spark, Kafka, Impala, Pig.
  • Hands-on experience with Java or Scala required. Experience with Python a plus.
  • Application and database performance testing and tuning experience is a plus.
  • Experience designing solutions to business problems with big data technologies
  • Experience working on ETL tools and technologies a plus.
  • Production support experience desired.
  • US Healthcare industry experience preferred.
  • Ability to mentor others, lead medium or large projects and provide troubleshooting support.
  • Multi database or multi language preferred.
  • Experience with DevOps and Test Automation is a plus - preferably using some of the following tools: Git, BitBucket, Maven, Bamboo, JUnit, ScalaStyle, Selenium, SonarCube, UDeploy.
