BRANCH MANAGER (SALEM)
Johnstone Supply, a leading locally-owned HVAC/R wholesale distribution company is seeking an experienced Branch Manager to join our Salem team. We are a member of the Johnstone Supply Co-op, operating 13 locations in three states, headquartered in Tigard, Oregon.
Perform all sales and operation functions; including order processing, product application, pricing, inventory management, personnel management, etc. Directly supervise Customer Service personnel. Increase Sales through vigorous store-based sales efforts of all kinds. Protect the company’s assets and profit margins. Maximize gross profit while controlling expenses. Develop the technical knowledge of inside sales personnel through personal instruction, as well as outside training programs. Continuously improve all aspects of customer service. Maintain the highest standards in appearance for the showroom, warehouse and exterior of the facility. Formulate, explain, and review your expectations of each employee on a regular basis. Recommend and develop improvements in company procedures. Maintain surveillance on inventory so as to insure the best possible customer service (low back order and lost sales) and asset accountability (i.e. inventory turns). Strive to know the names of principals of all customers and keep an open rapport with them. Understand your market and the competition. Provide quality sales and marketing information to Sales Manager. Responsible to be up to date on all company policies and procedures and assume compliance. The Branch Manager would also oversee the opening/closing of store, general operations of branch store and supervision of employees.
Education and Experience: The Branch Manager would have a wholesale distribution background in operations and/or customer service/sales. The Branch Manager should have strong people management skills. Specifically a demonstrated ability to delegate authority, communicate expectations, develop and nurture new employees, and plan for future growth. He/She must be prepared to spend most of the day at or around the counter. He/She must have a driving concern for customer sales and service. This means that while at the counter the Branch Manager should be comfortable in interacting with the customers, asking probing questions, and becoming familiar with each customer’s business.
