Position Description:
POSITION OVERVIEW

SunGard Consulting Services Inc. is a business and information technology consulting firm specializing in project management, enterprise integration, custom development, and business intelligence. We leverage our expertise in the financial services industry to help clients derive higher performance levels from their people, processes, and technology.

In this role, you will be directly involved in both project delivery and account management. You will lead a project management team that will drive day-to-day project management activities. You will be responsible for structuring and executing project approaches that deliver on client objectives. A growing career objective will be to identify, qualify and close new business opportunities as well as leveraging a top-notch management and consulting team. Progression inside our organization will enable you to be responsible for developing strategies and tactics for penetrating new accounts and cross selling to established accounts.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage a medium size project or area (at least 5 people)
• Be able to develop a project plan for your area
• Understand all phases of the development life cycle and
the general activities associated with those phases.
• Understand the inter-dependencies between each of the
development life cycle phases
• Monitor your team’s utilization and profitability
• Track your teams progress against the development plan
• Provide regular status reports to project manager
• Make sure your team adheres to the project standards
• Actively monitor the scope of your area
• Understand and be able to communicate the strengths,
weaknesses, and maturities of the major development
languages, environments, and toolsets used within the
technology industry
• Understand the technology being used on your project
well enough to anticipate and address issues of scalability,
performance, and complexity
• Be able to accurately assess the impact of technology
issues or changes to the scope of the project
• Ensure the project standards are defined and enforced for
the areas of coding, database standards, naming and
documentation
• Be the technical “backbone” of the project and the major
project resource for technical questions.
• Demonstrate a familiarity with Reengineering/Change
acceleration tools and techniques, Performance metrics,
scorecards, dashboards, creative problem solving
techniques
• Have demonstrated a detailed knowledge of and/or the
ability to lead in the following concepts/skills:
o Business/e-Business Strategy
o Build a business plan
o Creative problem solving techniques
o Effective facilitation techniques
o Training techniques
o Process Mapping (current and future state)
o Development of data flow diagrams (current
and future state)
o Communication strategies


Position Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in a business-related discipline or equivalent of experience and education
• Benefits Administration knowledge and experience (401k, 403b, qualified and non-qualified plan experience)
• Typically 6-10 years of experience in a consulting firm
• Ideal candidate will possess a strong and very established track record in delivery of technology solutions for large, complex, long-term engagements (2+ years and $1+ million in contract value).
• Demonstrate strong leadership skills, particularly with highly diverse teams.
• Deep knowledge of Information Systems/Business Consulting Methodologies.
• Developing Senior Executive Presence – Possess an interest and passion towards engaging the imagination of Senior Level (i.e. CEO, CIO, COO) executives in grasping and enabling the fundamentals of business change through consulting solutions.
• Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and facilitation skills.
• Network of contacts and relationships.
• Creative, enthusiastic and able to thrive in a team environment.
