Bi-lingual Business Analyst

Job Description

The Bi-Lingual Actuarial IT Business Analyst (English/Spanish) will act as liaison between the user community primarily within the Latin American region, the Finance Actuarial Department in and the Programmer Analysts within the Finance Actuarial IT Unit. This includes modifications for existing valuation extracts as well as the creation of new valuation extracts as needed to support the Finance Actuarial Department.

In the capacity of Business Analyst, responsibilities include requirements elicitation and information gathering, solution analysis, documentation, and creation of business specifications. In the capacity of Quality Assurance Analyst, responsibilities include the creation and execution of test plans.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1.Conduct and document requirements gathering workshops to elicit requirements and gather relevant business information.
2.Partner with business units and IT teams to identify sources of data.
3.Define and document detailed functional specifications based on the business needs for the purpose of application/system development.
4.Continual interaction with IT teams in the development life cycle to identify and resolve issues and queries.
5.Create test plans and execute QA testing.
6.Maintain clear documentation and proof of executed testing.
7.Act as a subject matter expert in life insurance / actuarial processes, procedures, products and standards.
8.Carry out mentoring role for junior business analysts and QA analysts.
9.Maintain required Sarbanes-Oxley controls.

Qualifications and Experience Required:
1.Must be fluent in Spanish and English, both verbal and written.
2.Bachelor’s degree or related work experience.
3.Minimum 2 years of actual work experience as a business analyst.
4.Life insurance knowledge or experience is preferred.
5.Finance Actuarial or strong financial background is highly desirable.
6.Strong written and oral communication skills are required in both Spanish and English.
7.Proven skills for eliciting requirements, gathering and analyzing information, documenting, communicating, and problem solving are required.
