Bilingual Training Coordinator -Front Royal, VA Distribution Center

Are you looking to join one of the best retail teams in America?  Creating a culture that provides a compelling place to shop, work and invest is essential to achieving our corporate goals and you can help us succeed in that by becoming a Bilingual Training Coordinator at Family Dollar's Front Royal, Virginia Distribution Center.  This is a three shift facility and candidates must be willing to support training efforts on all shifts.


 


In this role, you will administer all training programs  and databases, including the assessment plan, implementation, marketing, facilitation, tracking and day to day operations.  You will ensure Team Members have required tools, knowledge and skills to perform their jobs and support Distribution Center goals.  You will partner with management to address changes in the work environment and develop a learning culture.  Report on training effectiveness via Executive Summaries that include recommended improvements to foster teamwork and  engagement.


 


Principal Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Conduct Safety Audits across shifts for compliance to Company and OSHA requirements.   Enter audit results into applicable databases.

  • Administer database for accident reporting. Enter in data; monitor safety and policy compliance. 

  • Act as administrator for the Online Learning Center. Track course completions and monitor employee learning histories for compliance reporting,

  • Administer Training Coach program.  Partner with management to select Team Members that meet requirements, conduct certification process and ensure appropriate documentation is recorded.  Monitor Training Coach staffing and develop methods to attract and retrain Training Coaches while avoiding shortages.

  • Develop instructional materials as deemed necessary from needs assessments.  

  • Administer Company Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO ) Training, New Hire Safety Orientation, and New Hire 90 Day Learning Process. 

  • Conduct safety classroom training to include all powered industrial truck (PIT) equipment.  Partner with management to ensure mandatory annual retraining is completed by deadlines.

  • Conduct management and leadership courses as assigned. Complete necessary instructor certifications.   

  • Partner with managers to foster a culture of safe and productive working behaviors.  Conduct needs assessments to identify non-productive behaviors  and  recommend best practices  to foster Team Member engagement. 

Working Conditions:


  • Must be willing to work all shifts, weekends and overtime as needed.

  • Must be willing to work in a non-climate controlled warehouse.

  • Minimum of 2-4 hours/day may be spent on the warehouse floor.

  • Travel: Up to 10% of time.

 


 



Our ideal candidate will have one to three years experience conducting training needs assessments, updating/developing training curriculum, and determining Return on Investment (ROI) for training programs.  Candidates must be willing to spend a large amount of time on the production floor assessing associate development and training coach performance.  Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization are required.  The ability to conduct effective classroom training and presentations is essential.  Our successful candidate will have basic competency with MS Word and MS Excel, a knowledge of other MS Office Suite programs is a plus.  Must be flexible to work required shifts and hours to support training functions on all shifts.    Bilingual (Spanish/English) skills required. 
 
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology or Business preferred.  Experience with integrated Web-based Training Systems and Learning Management Systems is a plus.  OSHA and Safety standards training exposure is helpful.
 

Minimum Requirements:


 


Education: High School Diploma required.  Associates degree or higher preferred.


Experience: 2-3 years experience in administration of training in a distribution/manufacturing or retail environment with an instructor led focus required.  Experience with maintaining an on-line training program is preferred.


Software: Proficient in Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.  Experience with Microsoft Access, Publisher and Learning Management Systems preferred.


Job Related Skills: Knowledge and ability to apply Instructional Design principles (ADDIE or Robert Mage models).  Ability to apply models for training evaluation (Donald Kirkpatrick or Jack Phillips) to determine ROI (Return on Investment).  Strong communication skills (verbal and written), ability to multi task, detail orientated and good time management skills.


Language Abilities: Bilingual (English/Spanish) required for Virginia and Texas Distribution Centers.
