This dynamic, experienced and innovative professional will provide technical leadership to an established and profitable AMEC E&E location delivering Biological Consulting services. He/she will be a role model for leadership, develop existing client relationships, assist Unit Manager in hiring and maintaining profitable staffing levels, and market and develop new client relationships. Manage project execution, procurement, logistics and supporting efforts. Implement AMEC policies and procedures in the region. Work with AMEC Sr. Leadership team to maintain and expand Federal, State and Local Government and Private Client relations in the region.
Accountabilities
• Recruiting, motivating and providing leadership to environmental professionals.
• Foster an environment of high technical competence, accuracy and timeliness.
• Oversee the work of staff professionals through the life cycle of projects.
• Provide adequate resources to projects maintaining appropriate staffing.
• Manage existing client relationships/foster new client relationships.
Qualifications
Critical:
• 10+ years experience performing Biological services in Southern California
• Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Botany or related field.
• Experience in ESA consultations and excellent understanding of State and Federal regulatory requirements as they relate to biology
• Excellent knowledge of CEQA and NEPA as it related to Biological issues
• Possess proven leadership management skills of professional staff.
• An entrepreneurial approach to taking on challenges in a dynamic environment.
• Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong work ethic, ability to lead, teach, and develop professional staff.
• Experience in business development and client relationship management.
• Excellent Interpersonal, presentation, communication and organizational skills.
Preferred:
• Master’s degree in Biology, Botany or related field.
• Work with utilities a plus.
• Experience with local Multi-species Plans a plus
