The System Administrator is seen as a key position for developing, deploying, and maintaining national and global Learning Management Systems (LMS) in support of Laureate's operational and strategic goals and vision. The incumbent collaborates with other Learning Technologies personnel, Shared Technology Services and LHEG Online IT staff, and Laureate staff in other non-IT functional units in support of operational excellence and the aggressive growth plans for the Laureate Education businesses.

POSITION SUMMARY
The System Administrator's main role is to maintain the entire LMS architecture, including:
- maintenance
- sizing
- release management
- user profiles including passwords and provisioning
The System Administrator also works with Shared Technology Services and LHEG Online IT staff on shared projects and collaborative rollouts.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Primary responsibility for Laureate's international Learning Management System including but not limited to:
- LMS environment configuration and deployment
- Ongoing configuration modifications and environment scaling
- Ongoing LMS application management
- Administrator-level user technical support
- Collaboration with current and future Laureate Higher Education Group clients for custom LMS domains
- Collaboration with application development and computer operations staff for support of application connectivity
- Creation of customized LMS functional modules (ex. Building Blocks)
- Create and maintain LMS user roles
- Manage LMS version change control
- Creation and maintenance of LMS test environment
Serve as Learning Technologies technical liaison for Laureate stakeholders, including but not limited to:
- Walden academic audiences
- International partner schools
- Participation in vendor technical relations
- Collaboration with Laureate's PMO unit
- Provide input to yearly budget planning
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Technology related Bachelor degree from an accredited institution, Master's preferred
- 3-5 years experience in higher education
- Knowledge of technical support best practices in an academic environment
- 3-5 years experience in LMS administration in a distributed computing environment, with Blackboard experience preferred
- 1-3 years in technical project management
- Experience with SDLC and project management best practices
- Familiarity with Student Information Systems, preferably SCT Banner
- Ability to work independently and as a team member
- Experience in liaisoning with Help Desk/end user support personnel
- Demonstrated problem solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to establish priorities, perform routine tasks efficiently and accurately
- Ability to gather data, compile information, prepare reports
- Proven analytic skills
- Experience with Oracle preferred
- Experience with Unix preferred
- Experience with programming languages such as Javascript, XML, and PHP preferred
- Familiarity with IMS and SCORM compliance preferred
- Experience with podcasting and streaming video technologies preferred
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
