Branch Manager

Responsible to launch, develop and grow a profitable business within the branch territory. Plan, direct and control the operation, service and sales activities as well as overall business performance within the branch territory.  Participates in strategic planning to gain in depth understanding of the business and its customers.
                          
Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the development of branch operations, implementing corporate initiatives and strategies in accordance with the company’s core purpose and values. Works in conjunction with the region to provide superior service to our customers and insure profitability on the entire business.
  • Directly responsible for sales and customer acquisition in the home market of the branch territory. May also be responsible for the hiring, training and successful management of MAE’s in other markets within the branch territory. 
  • Operational support and development of Express Same Day and Next Flight Out NFO Courier Service
  • Directly responsible for the hiring and training of an A/E housed in the home market of the branch territory.
  • Management of local PUD agent on development of services in the branch territory
  • Develops annual operations business plans which outline the tactical programs, actions, and expected results to ensure effective implementation of programs related to key strategies.
  • Effectively prepare annual budgets and periodically forecast the business within the branch territory.
  •  Prepares weekly and monthly reports as a means to detail areas of the business that need improvement in the branch territory.
  • Ensures that branch facilities conform with local, state or federal governmental regulations.
  • Ensures alignment through appropriate communications within and between various functional areas within the branch and region.
  • Maintains and supports prescribed programs of employee relations, health and safety, training and development, etc. for all employees in the branch.
  • Works with Administration/Billing, Human Resources, Legal, Finance, Customer Service, etc. to ensure all functions are properly planned and executed within the branch and improvements are made organizationally.
  • Keeps other functional areas informed about operations plans, objectives, issues, needs and achievements; encourage inter-departmental communication and cooperation; participates in organizational planning

 
Qualifications:

  • University degree or equivalent work experience (MBA an asset) in a logistics environment 
  • Strong experience in onvernight, same day courier/freight services
  • Demonstrated success in a leadership role with ability to gain commitment from others
  • Superior decision making and problem solving abilities
  • Proven ability to manage, develop motivate and support teams
  • Ability to integrate various disciplines with both direct and indirect reports such as Engineering, Sales, H.R., Finance, etc. to maximize regional performance. Must be able to monitor and direct people and systems for critical results
  • Maintain knowledge of external factors influencing the business and specifically, regional performance
  • Experience in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment where multiple projects are concurrently being executed and managed
  • Experience in implementing and managing process improvement and cost reduction initiatives
  • Ability to keep current with changing trends and planning requirements in order to maximize benefits from opportunities
  • Experience which demonstrates strong planning and orchestrating abilities
  • Business acumen, vision and strategic planning abilities
  • Strong oral and written business communication skills 
  • High sense of urgency, energy and enthusiasm
