The Branch Manager is responsible for managing the functions of a full service branch, including maintaining existing and developing new customer relationships, both personal and business. Accountability includes achieving sales performance objectives of the branch and key financial indicators relating to lending, deposit growth, fee income, and cost control. Responsible for the supervising, coaching, and developing of branch staff and ensuring the communication and adherence with all Bank best practices, policies, procedures, and regulations. 1. Leads by example and proactively builds existing retail and business customer relationships and develops new consumer relationships; 2. Develops new business relationships in accordance with the call plan and assists customers with commercial transactions; 3. Achieves sales performance goals and objectives on a consistent basis and key financial indications relating to retail and business lending, deposit growth, investment and fee income, and cost control; 4. Reinforces sales skills to effectively uncover customer needs and recommend appropriate Bank products and services. Manages and coaches the branch sales team to effectively provide financial solutions to customers; 5. Ensures delivery of excellent customer service throughout the Bank and assists customers regarding effective account maintenance and record keeping; 6. Provides customer resolution to problems and inquiries through direct personal action or referral to the proper department; 7. Has knowledge and complies with Bank security and operating policies and procedures, as well as compliance regulations; 8. Ensures that dual control is in place for all vaults/safes containing cash/negotiables; 9. Controls losses that are preventable due to proper decision making skills; 10. Coordinates with Branch Administration, Regional Managers, and Human Resources on the hiring of new employees, performance reviews, employee discipline, terminations and salary adjustments; 1. Manages time-off requests and timesheets for employees under his/her supervision; 2. Keeps up-to-date on Bank products and services to effectively provide financial solutions to customers, as well as to branch sales team; 3. Provides regular team meetings for branch personnel to convey information received in seminars, manager’s meetings, conference calls and other sources; 4. Refers customers to trust and commercial representatives when needed; 5. Manages the approval of all new accounts, the approval of checks for cashing, and the signing of official checks and certificates of deposit; 6. Manages overall responsibility for settlement of branch cash and other general ledgers assigned; 7. Conducts audits and oversees completion of branch audits; 8. Opens and closes branch office adhering to bank’s security policy and procedures and on call twenty four (24) hours a day for security issues; 9. Manages the interviewing, training, orientation of all branch personnel, including preparing work schedules; 10. Presents a professional appearance and promotes good customer relations; 11. Participates as a member of branch-local civic organizations to promote Bank name, products and services. · College degree preferred (or equivalent work experience); · Two to four years of proven success in a management capacity in a bank branch setting; · Previous branch management experience with business development/calling experience or equivalent required. · Strong sales and service skills; · Thorough understanding of bank operations and regulations; · Strong planning and organizational skills; · Strong communication, problem solving, and coaching skills. · Some travel may be required.
