Client Service & Support (CS&S) is the primary service and trading arm for Schwab Investor Services.  The vision for CS&S is delighting clients by creating memorable service experiences and by always viewing the relationship through client’s eyes.  CS&S builds loyalty with clients and employees one interaction at a time by living the “golden rule”.


 


SUMMARY AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


 


As a Broker Trainee at Charles Schwab, you will pursue our mission and values through:


 


·          Receiving paid training (under a Condition of Employment) to acquire the knowledge for, and obtain, Series 7 and 63 broker licenses, becoming a licensed Charles Schwab broker. 


·          Utilizing a passion for customer service, positive energy, and problem solving skills to connect with our clients via inbound and outbound calls.


·          Assessing and resolving client issues at a moment’s notice, helping them navigate Schwab products and services. 


·          Delivering unparalleled value and outstanding service to our clients in order to build and maintain client loyalty.


·          Placing trades, uncovering business development opportunities, discussing the latest market trends, responding to research requests and providing investment advice/education to our clients (once a licensed broker).


 


Trainees work in highly collaborative teams in an inclusive environment, and are paid a salary (rather than the pressure of commissions), receiving additional compensation for overtime hours.  In addition, our Client Service & Support bonus program rewards client satisfaction, client retention, and profitable company growth.  We invest in our employees through several weeks of paid training every year (including several weeks of training during the first year) and through an extensive benefits program.  Schwab employees also have the opportunity to take part in community service projects and other company events.

QUALIFICATIONS:



Minimum required qualifications are:


·          Passion for service with strong client-focus and the desire to help people


·          Positive attitude, enthusiasm, professionalism and strong work ethic with high level of integrity and ethics


·          Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially the ability to listen and to explain complex subjects


·          Strong technical skills, including knowledge of Windows, internet searching, database systems, and email


·          Ability to work a flexible shift, which may include early morning hours, late night hours, or weekend hours


·      As a condition of employement, you must either currently possess valid Series 7 and 63 licenses or pass applicable examinations and become registered no later than 180 days after the start of your Examination Training course, which will be scheduled within the first 150 days of your employment.


 


In addition, ideal candidates will have:


·          Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business administration, or related area


·          At least 1 year work experience in financial services, operations, client support, or call center with basic financial industry experience or knowledge


 


 


Trainees are compensated with an annualized salary of $34,000, plus a target bonus and the potential for overtime.  In addition, Schwab provides paid training and an extensive benefits package including paid vacation and sick time, 401(k) with company match, employee stock purchase plan, medical/dental/vision insurance, and much more.
