Summary Description
The Building Engineer is responsible for trouble shooting, operating, servicing, maintaining, modifying, renovating and repairing all mechanical equipment such as chillers, cooling towers, RTU's, ventilation, heating, refrigeration, life safety equipment, pumps, boilers, electrical systems, EMS systems and related equipment on a regular and emergency basis.
Essential Functions
* Operate, monitor and maintain all mechanical systems. Troubleshoot complex operational issues with building systems and adjust operating parameters to resolve and fine tune identified problems.
* Manage and monitor the Energy Management Systems of the Corporate Campus.
* Manage all mechanical inspection services and repairs with outside mechanical contractors for the Corporate Campus.
* Review, approve and log mechanical invoices daily via the facilities work order system.
* Diagnose, identify and resolve mechanical related warranty items before the expiration of the 18 month warranty period.
* Oversee and plan operational shutdown processes as required with other departments.
* Assist in developing annual budgets for mechanical equipment and services.
* Work with Facilities Staff in troubleshooting and correcting emergency and non-emergency situations.
Skills
- Strong Analytical and Problem Solving skills -Must be able to successfully problem solve to coordinate all mechanical repairs for the Corporate Campus
- Position requires a strong working knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical lighting systems, Delta Energy Management System, invoice analysis and general property management
- Strong oral and written communications skills -must be able to effectively communicate to all levels of management at the Corporate Campus
- Strong organizational and administrative skills required
- Ability to prioritize projects and to handle multiple projects at one time
- Excellent Leadership Skills needed to accomplish projects in a timely manner
- Attention to detail is a must so all HVAC systems are running as designed
- Trade school or apprentice training in mechanical systems
- Five to 7 years of experience
- HVAC programming experience
- EMS systems and Building automation systems
- Microsoft Word & Excel
