Description
The Business Analyst (BA) is responsible for understanding all BCS programming requirements for each assigned application. This individual will develop detailed business requirements documents for application development projects, participate in design reviews, and interact with designated programming resources to insure projects meet requirements, are fully testing, and are developed and released within the specified time frame. This individual will also act as a strategic technical resource to customers for solution design.
Required Skills
1. Responsible for requirements gathering, analysis, design, input to test plan development, and reviewing implementation plans and application documentation.
2. Work with programmers, customers, project management, and manufacturing to design the most efficient and cost effective applications possible. Able to identify contingencies and alternatives in application design.
3. Work with Programming Project Leaders and Programming Management to determine resource availability when developing request estimates and timelines.
4. Coordinate with Quality Analysts to validate test plans against development requirements to insure application integrity.
5. Responsible for providing clear communications to teams throughout the project, both verbally and in written form.
6. Write requirements specifications according to standard templates, using simple and concise language.
7. Provide input to the programming team on application development standards, participate in design review boards, and interact closely with the Quality Management team to reduce application errors.
Required Experience
1. Applicant will have five years of experience in developing and maintaining client applications and requirements, focused on requirement gathering, analysis, design and management of test plans and quality assurance.
2. Must have excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with business users at all levels as well as with technical personnel.
3. Must have experience creating technical specifications and design documentation from business requirements. Expertise in business analysis includes conducting interviews and surveys, hosting application design sessions, defining and reviewing requirements, and creating appropriate documentation.
4. Demonstrated ability to work under pressure to achieve high product quality with aggressive implementation schedules.
5. Highly dependable, adaptable to independent and team assignments, and able to work in structured and unstructured environments.
6. Demonstrated interpersonal skills to help negotiate priorities and to resolve conflicts among internal and external customers.
7. Must be willing to lead a team, motivate and communicate with individuals or teams.
8. Strong conceptual, analytic and problem solving skills.
9. Knowledge of product offerings and production requirements of the manufacturing facilities.
