Business Analyst
HP's Enterprise Solutions Medical Management/Strategy
In support of its leading position in the healthcare service industry, HP Enterprise Solutions' Medical Management/Strategy helps HP clients address the interrelated need for operational efficiency between business functions and systems that optimize healthcare spend while also improving health outcomes. Services offered by Medical Management/Strategy provide public and private payers and ultimately providers and consumers with front and back end business solutions which in turn drives clients' strategic actions.
As part of Medical Management/Strategy this position will help research, analyze, and support the development of portfolio artifacts including business case, client collateral and technology solutions for population-based strategic business programs and systems that will deliver clearly defined value to clients. Working closely with Medical Management/Strategy will provide this individual with significant responsibility and growth opportunities as HP Enterprise Solutions greatly expands its capabilities and business in the health care market.
Job Description:
Under general direction and as part of the team, participates in researching, analyzing, designing, developing management artifacts and solutions in support of healthcare client business. As a Business Analyst working with the Medical Management/Strategy team, duties will include:
· Research, analyze and distill market trends, user needs, business and system environment, technical context and system constraints to determine functional and cross-functional requirements;
· Identify impacts to client environment, coverage and payment policy, disease management, and quality monitoring programs;
· Document requirements specifications in accordance with program and enterprise level standard operating procedures.
· Work with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs;
· Serve as the liaison between the business units, technology teams and support teams.
Job Essential Functions:
· Ability to collect/analyze clinical information/data and apply findings to program design;
· Ability to define business process workflows necessary to implement designed programs;
· Ability to identify information system inputs necessary for efficient program implementation;
· Ability to communicate effectively;
· Ability to support business studies and proposal teams;
· Ability to work independently, proactively, and as part of team
Skills & qualifications:
· Experience with and/or knowledge of third party health care payer and/or clinical information systems;
· Strong analytical and product management skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements;
· Knowledge of Health Information Exchanges highly desirable:
· Knowledge of medical coding including ICD-9 and CPT code sets desirable;
· Understanding of and interest in ICD-10 code set desirable;
· Business process re-engineering/design experience highly desired;
· Strong verbal and written communication skills;
· Ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts;
· Above average computer/technical skills;
