Description

We are searching for an experienced Business Analyst in the New York City area with Capital Markets experience specifically in the Wealth Management or Retail Brokerage field.
Understanding the industry front, middle and back office model is critical.
The candidate will be working on multiple securities operations workstreams simultaneously doing discovery and assessments. Examples include, Corporate Actions, Cashiering, Reference Data Management, P&S as well as other securities operations areas.
Essential Qualifications:
3+ years of Financial Services, Wealth Management experience
Excellent communication skills - articulate, personable, good listener, respectful, writing skills
Ability to collect, correlate and analyze large amounts of data
Ability to satisfy deadline requirements
5 days a week at client site, business attire
Ability to work long hours: 9+ daily
Professional, cultural fit for Wall Street work
Must be local to NYC
Essential Job Functions
  • Conduct process owner interviews to understand business context and validate current state processes and identify areas of pain
  • Summarize findings in an end-to-end process map with organization and technology details
  • Identify short, medium and longer term solutions
  • Apply industry experience and knowledge of trends to client challenges
  • Define major gaps between current and optimized future state vision
  • Prepare presentations
  • Coordinate acceptance testing and create high complexity test scripts for the business area that contain multiple cases and cycles.
  • Establishes credibility at all levels with clients and builds problem-solving partnerships with clients and colleagues (Relationship Management).
  • Understands the sales process, its information and support requirements, and assists business developers in identifying or qualifying leads (Leverage).
  • Contributes to applying the Catalyst framework, in the role played, to determine the methodological steps that are appropriate for an engagement (Methodology).


Qualification

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Bachelor's degree in business, computer science or related field preferred
  • Three or more years of experience in business analysis and design, preferably within a consulting environment
  • Experience working with issues and considerations for selecting business application packages and vendors
  • Experience working with delivery assurance principles and procedures

Other Qualifications
  • One to two years of additional relevant experience in a particular business or industry specialty area
  • Strong analysis and design skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a complex environment
  • Ability to devise creative business solutions
  • Ability to convey a strong presence, professional image, and deal confidently with complex business problems
  • Willingness to travel
