SUMMARY
The primary purpose of this position is to obtain and/or provide, analyze or evaluate data for the user or owner of projects. These projects or business assignments may be requested by Pharmacy Services, Pharmacy Operations, Pharmacy Purchasing, Accounting, and several other departments. Frequent independent judgments are essential. The incumbent is also required to perform all tasks in a safe manner consistent with corporate policies and state and federal laws.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:
- Maintain and enter electronic file data for all purchasing wholesaler contracts.
- Program the extraction of data for business projects within the pharmacy area as well as other areas of the company as deemed appropriate by the business.
- Pull and maintain data on pharmacy inventory for all distribution centers on a weekly basis. Use data to provide gross profit data and perform analyses to determine accuracy. Be prepared to identify and investigate any errors.
- Use tracking software to calculate allowances due on all brand pharmaceutical deals and audit receipt of these allowances. Make necessary decisions and generate appropriate e-mails to communicate with seller on the unreceived/expected.
- Provide the necessary collection of data to the rebate administrator for the purpose of collecting rebates from manufacturers.
- Provide the necessary collection of data to Accounting department in order for them to audit pricing from wholesaler to Rite Aid stores; assist in troubleshooting discrepancies when needed.
- Monitor notices on drug recalls and initiate communications to stores and distribution centers when appropriate. Develop reports required by Pharmacy Operations to follow-up on non-compliant stores.
- Continually audit wholesaler for pass through of monies due Rite Aid for Spec Buy purchases. Make necessary contact with appropriate people at wholesaler to inquire on late or missing monies.
- Prepare various ad hoc reports such as inventory on hand in stores, store transfers, drug utilization by stores, wholesaler purchases, charges by store, and reverse distribution reports for the Pharmacy Services team.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position currently has no supervisory responsibilities, however this person will be required to direct others in the Pharmacy Purchasing Department on the proper use of the data and also suggest appropriate courses of action.

Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS), plus three (3) years’ of experience in an analytical or financial role; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
