Business Analyst
Overview: The Supreme Court of Ohio is seeking applicants for the position of Business Analyst. The Business Analyst position is one which will be responsible for providing support to various court offices by gathering business requirements, assessing needs, establishing project scope, designing processes and new IT solutions to improve business efficiency and productivity, and explaining technical solutions available to meet current and projected operational needs.
Responsibilities: The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
The Business Analyst will determine end user requirements by facilitating meetings, interviewing, performing document analysis, requirements workshops, and task and workflow analysis. They will collaborate with project managers, end users and project sponsors to determine project scope and vision as well as develop, implement, and monitor project plans.
The position will also require the Business Analyst to work with applicable resources to effectively manage project scope and desired deliverables, analyze operations processes, redesign process flow, and develop system specifications to support improved process flow; create, manage and maintain business and system use cases, and use case models.
Other duties will include conducting and facilitating requirement gathering sessions with internal or external resources; analyzing business needs and translating those needs to system/technical requirements; creating and maintaining appropriate documentation for user processes, application requirements, functional specifications, and test plans; and assisting in the development of user manuals and training materials for new applications.
The Business Analyst will also serve as a liaison between business users and the IT development staff, work with the IT development staff in designing and refining the software life cycle management process, and creatively challenge business users to think beyond the boundaries of existing practices and processes.
Qualifications and Requirements: Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or related field; four years of Information Technology experience, including two years Business Analyst or Systems Analyst experience. Prior experience with developing business requirements, user stories and high level business process designs is essential.
A successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills relating technical information and concepts to non-technical end-users.
Experience in programming, project planning, and management is preferred.

Other: This is an exempt unclassified position in pay range 18 that reports to the Manager of Application Development. The normal work hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. An attractive benefits package is offered, including medical, dental, vision, retirement plan, life insurance, deferred compensation and leave time. The starting pay range begins at $60,798.40 per year. The Supreme Court of Ohio is an at-will employer.
