One of our clients is looking for a Windows Administrator

Description:

The Windows Administrator provides hands-on day-to-day technical support for Citrix and Windows systems. The scope of this position currently includes support for over 100 Windows servers, most of which are global in reach and some are mission critical. Is responsible for administration, uptime, performance, security and troubleshooting. Participates in “On Call” schedule.

Basic Responsibilities and Objectives Include:

·         Provide technical support and documentation for over 300 Windows – both physical and virtual (VMWARE) and Citrix systems.

·         Support VMWare environment including all aspects of server administration and host environment.

·         Support HP Blade and Cisco switch hardware, HP and Dell servers. Install/Replace hardware or firmware as necessary.

·         Work with users to troubleshoot and solve operational issues. Responsible for coordinating recovery in the event of system failure.

·         Maintain AD, DNS, NTFS, DHCP, PRINT SERVICES, FTP, TCP/IP, Citrix Metaframe and others.

·         Provide support to Oracle DBA team and other Windows/Citrix team and developers.

·         Provide tuning, troubleshooting and analysis.

·         Monitor system logs and activity on all servers daily.

·         Administer, verify, and restore backups as necessary.

·         Work with other Internal groups, Division leads, consultants and other stakeholders to develop, test, and maintain procedures for Disaster Recovery (DR). Maintain technical DR readiness.

·         Research new technologies and present recommendations/justifications on hardware and software purchases.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each basic responsibility satisfactorily and meet education and experience requirements.

Education and Experience:

·         Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or work experience.

·         Citrix Metaframe and Windows 2003 or equivalent certification preferred.

·         3-5 years of experience in Windows 2003

·         2-3 years of VMWare experience desired.

·         2+ years of experience with Citrix versions 2, 3 or 4.

·         Ability to work independently in a fast-paced dynamic environment.

·         Strong knowledge of enterprise production environment best practices and troubleshooting techniques.

·         Active Directory experience a plus.

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
