Business Developer



Position Summary:


 



  • Create business relationships and generating sales leads with high-level contacts often through face-to-face and client site visits.

  • Maintain an ongoing business relationship with current industry clients to facilitate future sales.

  • Develop objectives in support of overall corporate business development goals.

  • Coordinate with other regional offices as needed to maximize company-wide business development efforts.

  • Perform business development and marketing activities including planning and strategy.

  • Assemble and analyze relevant market and industry data.

  • Develop an understanding of the competition.

  • Manage the development and preparation of proposals and interview materials.

  • Assist management and estimating with sales process and final close.

  • Educate, coach and mentor operations staff to enhance business development skills.

  • Work with minimum supervision on complex projects with wide latitude for independent judgment.

 


 


Qualifications:


 



  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Engineering, Building Construction, or related fields.

  • Must have a strong understanding of the commercial construction industry, including; the development of schedules and budgets, value engineering, general means and methods, design-build method of delivery, and industry standard forms of contractual agreements.

  • Previous experience as a Business Development Manager in the commercial construction industry. Primary focus should be in the both the private and public sector, to include schools, government, municipal, hospitals, hotels, hospitality and assisted living.

  • Knowledge of and access to existing networks in and surrounding the Southeast region, with a history of success securing major projects.

  • Ability to utilize existing business relationships with Facility Managers, Brokers, Architects, Engineers, Consultants, Developers, Owners, etc. in an effort to provide new opportunities for company (whether negotiated or bid).

  • Prepare and execute business development action plans for specific targets.

  • Extensive experience in public speaking, writing, media and public outreach.

  • Computer literate in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project.

  • Exceptional relationship management, closing skills and the ability to articulate complex solutions

  • Position is highly visible to potential customers and requires ability to influence and persuade.

  • Proven experience with prioritizing and organizing multiple projects simultaneously.
