The Business Development Director's primary focus is to drive profitable annual revenue growth by developing business with new clients.
Key Accountabilities:
Business Acquisition
Develop business in assigned national accounts, coordinating as required with US Business
Development team
Lead local office efforts to pursue and close new business opportunities with new targeted accounts
Develop relationship with key IPG agency constituents in local market and develop and close new
business opportunities in concert with those agencies.
Planning & Pursuit
Lead the development and execution of a disciplined new business development process to ensure robust pipeline activity
o Develop new business acquisition plan for office, including specific campaigns, local marketing efforts etc. for the year
o Identify target new clients for office, segmenting market as appropriate
o Develop pursuit plan for each target, ensuring research results in intelligent contact with client prospects
o Map targets to IPG and leverage existing agency relationships.
o Activate aggressive follow up to ensure a robust frequency of client interaction
o Ensure appropriate team is harnessed to support pursuit and build relationships
o Ensure hand- off plan to Account Director or Manager is in place for each client opportunity as needed.
Manage all account, contact business development activity and pipeline opportunity information in
company CRM system to enable accurate forecasting. Send targeted, relevant Marketing materials
to prospects from company CRM system.
Staff Development
Develop junior staff by involving them in your key pursuit efforts, where appropriate.
Requirements:
College degree
5-8 plus years of solution selling and relationship building experience
Strategic marketing expertise
Strong industry and community ties; association memberships
Demonstrated business development competencies: Client focus, accountability for results, team
effectiveness, developing others, sales drive, organizational sophistication, influencing others.
