This is a territory position serving Western Iowa. 

We are seeking a professional with the initiative and innovation to perform above and beyond expectations through consulting, technical assistance and training for existing and future clients in Western Iowa.    

As part of Iowa State University’s Center for Industrial Research and Services (CIRAS),  (www.ciras.iastate.edu/procurement) the Procurement Assistance Program is dedicated to enhancing the performance of Iowa industry. The Procurement Assistance Program works with businesses to understand the market potential of government procurement reduce the barriers inherent in government contracting and assist existing government contractors with market expansion to enhance the performance of Iowa business.

We need an accomplished individual with the business experience and knowledge to communicate effectively at all organizational levels.  This position is accountable for the direction, coordination, delivery, follow up and support activities for businesses primarily in Western Iowa.  Office located in Sioux City or Council Bluffs.

Experience required:

·       Bachelor’s degree in a related field

o   Business development, marketing, industrial technology, engineering

·       Minimum of 5 (five) years business experience

·       Demonstrated success working independently

·       Professional, executive presentation capabilities

·       Computer savvy with understanding of Ecommerce

·       Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

·       Professional “consultative” approach

·       Self directed ability to meet goals and objectives

The Government Contract Specialist will develop and maintain favorable relationships with new and existing clients to increase the quantity and quality of Iowa business providing products and services to the government to meet or exceed impact measurement goals.
