Motiva is currently seeking a Business Development Managerfor their Houston, Texas location.
Responsibilities :
- Developing a strategy to both retain base business (while minimizing margin impact), and place targeted incremental gallons in the Motiva geography
- Devise strategy to engage and leverage field sales staff to identify and pursue diesel sales growth opportunities
- Drive solicitation and generation of new diesel business to meet sales goals
- Responsible for identification, negotiation and signing of large diesel accounts generally >50 Mln gal/yr
- Represent North American (NA) Fuels in working teams involving Supply, Logistics and cross business issues regarding the Port Arthur refinery expansion product placement activities
- Support New Business Development Manager and team to achieve business objectives through the coordinated development of effective plans and tracking of objectives
- Provide high level analytical support to Mgr and team regarding overall program economics (EAV), supply economics and particular deal economics
- Provide competitive and key customer intelligence and analyses
- Achieving short term / high profile goals while recognizing and managing long term strategic issues for Retail and the Enterprise
Requirements :
- Must have legal authorization to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce/Business/Finance or related field required, Masters degree preferred
- Proven years of experience in large business to business (B2B) distillate sales industry with proven successful strategy experience
- Experience “hunting” new business opportunities, develop business partnership and provide business counseling and “close” the sales cycle in a short period of time with large potential customers in the industry
- Excellent negotiation skills, contract management, supply/logistics, execute company programs and provide positive customer focus, attitude and passion for the customer
- Strong business knowledge of the distillate industry, logistic channels, highly skilled in customer relationship management and knowledge of the key players in the SE and Mid Atlantic markets
- Current customer contacts in the Distillate industry in the SE and Mid Atlantic markets preferred
- An ability to work well within a team and with others, strong leadership of cross-functional teams/networks with excellent communication skills
- Proven experience to work in a environment that is self-motivating, self-directed with little day-to-day supervision and resolve issues quickly and effectively
- Must be open to 45% travel doing outside sales
