Business Development Manager

About the Job

Mispro Biotech Services Inc.’s mission is to provide high quality non-GLP in-vivo support to the bio-pharmaceutical industry.  Mispro offers a wide range of services including contract research, vivarium space, remote husbandry services and remote facility management.


The contract study pharmacokinetic department is lead by a senior Study Director.  Our experienced technicians work with him to provide Non-GLP pharmacokinetic studies to the global market.  Mispro has screened hundreds of compounds for numerous companies around the world.


The contract study xenograft department is lead by a xenograft model expert.  His technical team has carried out more than 300 xenograft assays.  Mispro offers a complete array of oncology studies.


 


Basic Function:


 


To market and sell services in accordance with budgeted objectives to obtain maximum profitability and volume.  Responsible for lead prospecting and sales generation.  Located regionally or locally, the Business Development Manager is responsible for implementing sales strategies to achieve the sales objectives.


 


Principal Responsibilities:


 




  • Contact client/potential clients with the intent of selling services.


  • Present our capabilities to client/potential clients.


  • Follow-up with client/potential clients to identify and develop business opportunities.


  • Work with the Director, Business Development along with all other department heads, in the     development of proposals, contracts, and letters of intent to ensure that information gathered from sponsors is integrated into the proposal process.


  • Lead the bid defense process.


  • Support contract negotiations.


  • Keep upper management across departments and strategic partnership informed of proposals and contract status.


  • Identify, develop and qualify full service pre-clinical development market opportunity.  Select the appropriate market segments which dovetail our service offerings and experience so as to provide expansion of current business and also provide new business from segment not currently served.


  • Manage awarded study transition to Operations.


  • Work with the Director, Business Development to drive the market positioning strategy that will result in revenue growth objectives.


  • Maintain open communication with senior management.


  • Maintain high client visibility in target markets such as pharmacokinetic, oncology and imaging.


  • Maintain routine contact with assigned sponsor companies regardless of proposal award status.


  • Develop communication patterns with Study Directors to access overall level of client satisfaction and progress of project.  Coordinate routine business follow-up with Study Directors.


  • Provide routine reports to Director,  Business Development.


  • Represent Mispro at tradeshows and professional conferences.


  • Maintain a high level of integrity and protect the company’s name.

 


 


Experience:


 




  • Experience within the CRO industry.  A strong preference for an individual who has a solid sales track record and a clear understanding of the pre-clinical research industry.


  •  A person with a demonstrated ability to achieve business growth in a highly technical and competitive market.  An individual with a pre-clinical sales background.


  • An individual who has functioned as a team player and communicated effectively with all levels of the organization.


  • A person with numerous contacts throughout the industry is important.


  • Outstanding written, oral, organizational, and interpersonal skills are also required.
