Business Development Manager – Co-Manufacturing

 

COMPANY

We are the leading supplier of sustenance food and beverage products for severe environments with over $200 million in sales annually. We are currently looking for a Business Development Manager.

 

LOCATION

Reports to the Director of Business Development – co-Manufacturing.

 

SUMMARY

Manages selection of Co-Manufacturing relationships.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, but management may add other duties at its discretion.

 

Drives Account Revenue and Direct Margin $ growth through the execution of Programs consistent with The Wornick Company’s marketing strategy and related value proposition.

 

Manages the customer service function supporting designated accounts including related Sales Order Management, Demand Management, and Change Order processes.

 

Manages the Contract Compliance for designated accounts.

 

Drives Continuous Improvement against established Customer Service targets.

 

Executes Pricing strategies consistent with Price Board approvals and contract terms.

 

Provides Market Based insight relative to competition, market trends, customer demand, assumptions that drive related demand forecasts.

 

Develops processes that support both internal and external reporting on The Wornick Company’s Performance relative to Customer’s Order Fulfillment and Contract Compliance expectations.

 

Negotiates contract renewals and changes consistent with established controls and approvals.

 

Coordinates and delivers The Wornick Company’s response to Bids and RFP’s in coordination with Pricing Board processes.

 

Project Management of new products and programs for designated accounts.

 

TASKS

Influences Customer Demand relative to constraints identified in monthly S&OP process.

 

Books Revenue to achieve Direct Margin Contribution targets.

 

Identifies and allocates functional responsibilities among customer service team. Establishes related goals and accountabilities.

 

Indentifies, monitors, and reports changes in Market and Program Assumptions that are the basis for Demand Forecasts.

 

Manages activities and tasks supporting established Demand Management, Sales Order, and ATP and MOC processes. Measures and monitors performance relative to completion of these tasks.

 

Conducts quarterly customer reviews that include the Order Fulfillment Performance, Contract Compliance Performance, and Customer Performance.

 

Communicates The Wornick Company’s status relative to strategic goals and objectives, including significant changes.

 

Coordinates The Wornick Company’s response to quality, service, and performance issues.

 

Manages calendar of events and coordinates internal resources required to support such events.

 

Secures delivery commitments and facilitates organizational activities to ensure Monthly Demand Plan Attainment.

 

Proposes Marketing Expense budge. Establishes related controls and processes to execute the plan.

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, or Marketing, MBA preferred.
  • Proven negotiating skills
  • 4-7 years consumer packaged goods, consumer durables, white goods, or private label business development management or related experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a team player
  • Strong people skills including motivating others and working with various functional departments
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate across functions to achieve buy-in and gain support for business development efforts
  • Analytical-driven, problem-solving, ability to see several alternative solutions to a problem
  • Well organized, strong administrative, and attention to detail skills
  • Strong follow through and execution capabilities
  • Solid project management capability; strategic awareness
  • Minimum five years in business development, product development or marketing role, preferably in an industrial/business-to-business setting
  • Must have exceptional written, oral and interpersonal communication skills as well as analytical and reasoning skills; strong organizational and project management skills; demonstrated ability to develop and implement business development strategies with a track record of success; and demonstrated high skill level with Microsoft Office suite software
  • Must have willingness to travel up to 50% of time
