JMWA is searching for a Business Development Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION: The successful applicant will perform both tactical and strategic business development activities at the Business Group level of J.M. Waller Associates, Inc. with Federal, State and local Government and with the private sector. Individual will formulate and execute business development objectives consistent with corporate and business group objectives in support of JMWA’s core business areas. Specific areas include environmental services, construction and facilities management, engineering and design services, logistics services, other management and technical professional services.

Duties will include identification, qualification and capture activities associated with developing new business I the Federal market as well as opportunities in the private sector for delivery orders and major contracts. Individual will identify opportunities and develop/execute marketing and capture plans. Individual will be accountable for new business results; developing and maintaining client/potential client and industry partner relationships; and identifying and pursuing multiple marketing opportunities. Individual will present JMWA’S capabilities during marketing events, and both informal and formal customer presentations. This position requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong follow up skills and solid relationship management skills in order to present JMWA’s technical capabilities to current and potential clients. Other responsibilities include: Develop teaming relationships, conduct competitive analysis, develop win strategy, and lead proposal teams to develop winning proposals.

Individual will also work with operations program managers to develop and execute tactical marketing programs to support the principle business offerings. Individual will be responsible for capturing new business on existing contracts to support multiple programs and developing and maintaining a tactical opportunity pipeline.

REQUIED EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Education: Bachelor of Science degree or higher in business, marketing, engineering or technical discipline. MS/MA preferred.

Required Skills: Must have a demonstrated track record of successful growth via identification, capture planning, proposal development, and subsequent contact awards. Must have excellent interpersonal and communications skills, presentation and problem solving skills, and the ability to gain support and establish working relationships with managers, peers and staff required. Must have good analytical, strategic, and reasoning skills as well as the ability to create and communicate complex business models/innovative solutions.

Experience: At least 4 years experience that includes business development, program management, marketing research, and technical services to government customers. Individuals must have prior experience directly involving federal agencies in Architectural-Engineering, Environmental, or Facilities Management services. Individual must have a record of successful sales growth and new business development including executing capture and acquisition strategies for contracts greater than $10M.
