JOB TITLE: Business Development Manager
DEPARTMENT: Wholesale Sales Department
REPORTS TO: National Sales Manager
General Summary: Business Development Manager initiate and develop broker relationships in the field to increase loan production, operating efficiency, and loan quality.
Responsibilities:
· Responsible for prospecting mortgage brokers in assigned territory.
· Responsible for obtaining completed broker applications from new brokers.
· Responsible for soliciting new loan submissions from assigned mortgage brokers.
· Provide on-going service support to mortgage brokers.
· Communicate and train mortgage brokers on Maverick Funding's products, policies, and procedures to ensure all loan files are complete and within guidelines.
· Actively manage the loan pipeline from origination to closing.
· Establish and maintain a 12 month business plan that includes monthly goals for new brokers, submissions, and fundings, and a strategy for achieving them.
· Stay abreast of industry news (competitors, market movements) and underwriting guidelines so as to discuss the mortgage business in an informed fashion.
Requirement:
· High School diploma or equivalent. College degree strongly preferred.
· Demonstrated sales ability with proven record of success.
· Strong communication, organization, and time management skills.
· Minimum of 5 years mortgage industry outside sales experience; preferably with exposure to FHA lending.
· Articulate speaker with excellent interpersonal skills.
· Ability to evaluate loan scenarios against underwriting guidelines to ensure loan submissions are within Maverick guidelines.
· Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
· Ability to work evenings and/or weekends as necessary.
· Must have reliable and appropriate transportation, valid driver's license and auto insurance.
