Description:
We are looking for a motivated sales and marketing professional to make a significant contribution to a major new global business for TripAdvisor. The successful candidate will be responsible for business development in U.S. targeting key accounts.

The Business Development Manager will excel in sales, relationship building, presentation skills and closing business. S/he will have a strong background in sales and marketing, with previous experience in growing significant revenue streams from scratch in internet/media businesses.

This role requires a proactive, motivated, organized candidate who is able to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented and entrepreneurial environment.

This success of this role will be measured against financial targets.

The role will report to the Commercial Director and will be accountable for territory growth against metrics.

Responsibilities:

-Achievement of agreed targets
-Ownership of hotel chains and intermediaries segment
-Identify leads throughout the U.S.
-Orchestrate strategy, segment, plan and execute to ensure business success
-Contribute to design of deal parameters to use across target segments
-Negotiate deals and sign contracts
-Construct marketing plans to facilitate conversion
-Present value proposition verbally and through presentations and design of materials
-Leverage PR by speaking at or attending key travel or media events in the territory
Requirements:

-At least 5 years experience in business development in the leisure/media sectors
-Proven ability to generate revenue through own efforts
-Excellent written and oral communication
-Equipped with excellent prospecting, negotiation and sales skills
-Target driven and proven self starter with ability to deliver on commercial targets without constant supervision
-Able to leverage contacts in the hotel sector across the U.S.
-Experienced at building effective client relationships through positive communication, honesty and trust.
-Not intimidated by technical interaction. The successful candidate must enjoy problem solving and be unafraid of technical solutions to ensure successful launch of products
-Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a hands-on approach and demonstrated ability to multi-task and think creatively
-Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks
-Strong organizational and analytic skills
-Expected to travel, mainly in U.S. as business requires
