Job Description
We have an immediate need for a Business Development Manager in the Northeast or Mid_Atlantic (Washington DC to Boston) area.
Job Summary:
The Business Development Manager is responsible for generating revenue by prospecting and closing sales. This individual is responsible for selling products and services directly to end users primarily via face-to-face contact. The candidate will be required to develop a pipeline through cold calling, following up on leads, using industry contacts and prior relationships, and working with key vendors such as Microsoft. The individual will also assist management in developing and managing the direct sales plans and strategies and managing and developing the sales team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Meets and exceeds annual multi-million dollar quota
· Directs and maintains all aspects of the client/prospect relationship, including interface and negotiations with executive management, pricing and selling of services, development and implementation of strategic client/prospect engagements emphasizing new opportunities, as well as the design within the client/prospect site. Ensures client satisfaction with services delivered. Works with Service Delivery teams to ensure that client objectives are met.
· Establishes access and relationships to executive management at target prospects and clients.
· Ensures attainment of revenue and margin goals for assigned accounts.
· Identifies business needs and develops total solutions sales plans for key prospects and accounts.
· Sells additional services within existing clients.
· Prospects new accounts within targeted base.
· Develops relationships through an organization (outside of IT for example, lines of business, R&D, HR, etc.)
· Develops recommendations for corporate departments to ensure CDC Global Services – Visalign’s products continue to meet client needs.
· Provides guidance to development of strategic marketing programs within client/prospect base.
· Develops industry and vertical knowledge.
· Works to develop and implement CDC Global Services – Visalign’s strategic plan. Evaluates long-term consistency of the impact (six months or more) and ramifications of policy and decisions to strategic plan. Completes strategic planning goals.
· Manage and develop sales team members while achieving personal quota.
Establishes relationships with vendors and develops networking opportunities.
· Ensures timely submission of internal reporting requirements, such as sales forecast.
· Performs related business tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
We require a relevant Bachelors degree and seven+ years of experience successfully selling outsourced IT services and Microsoft solutions to medium and large businesses. Sales management experience preferred. Candidates should also possess:
· Experience using a sales methodology.
· · A successful history of sales positions lasting 3 or more years.
· Relevant Microsoft product experience and experience working in the Microsoft channel.
· Specific selling experience into mid-to-large sized companies.
· Strong communication and presentation skills.
· Ability to work independently, as a member of a team, as a team leader and under supervision.
Product Line Expertise:
· Outsourced IT Services and solutions based on Microsoft Technologies in a Consultative Selling capacity at a Local, National and Global level
Travel:
Travel will be required 20 - 50%
