Job Description:  Business Development Manager, Water
Develop and sell water/wastewater system operations/maintenance, engineering and construction services to municipal clients in Texas and Oklahoma.  Services include the supply of operators, managers and technicians to operate and maintain existing w/ww plants and systems; also sell w/ww plant and system optimization, upgrade and expansion services.  Can work and travel out of home. 

• Meet with operators and managers of  municipal water systems to identify specific issues and needs and then develop alternative scopes of work.
• Cultivate relationships with city politicians.
• Develop technical specifications with system workers.  
• Lead the technical and commercial services proposal preparation. 
• Present the proposal, lead contract negotiations and close the deal with the municipality.
• Review new RFQ's, prepare bids, and present proposals to municipalities. 
• Work with engineering firms and equipment suppliers in development of specifications for projects. 
• Extensive travel required.

Job Requirements:

• Candidate must presently reside in either Oklahoma or Texas. 
• Have extensive successful experience selling services to the water wastewater industry, particularly municipalities and counties in Texas and Oklahoma.
• BA degree with a technical knowledge of water wastewater systems; useful to be a certified water system operator.  Possibly a BS Civil or Environmental Engineering degree. 
• Ability to build trust with and influence politicians, plant management and other influential people.
• Be a deal-maker and influence city fathers and water wastewater department managers and operators. 
• Know how to lead the development, preparation and presentation of technical and commercial proposals. 
• Be able to read and understand project specifications and develop proposals based on these specifications.
