Job Description
Business Development Manager - Western Region
Eastman Kodak Company seeks Sales Professionals to drive demand for our Branded Consumer Goods business solutions.
Initial emphasis for this specific position will be to identify, develop and close tangible business opportunities within Kodak’s key markets. The individual will participate in identifying prospects, use solution ideas to set initial conversations, engage the consulting team using Kodak’s client engagement model, manage the selling process and drive to a close. This individual needs to be familiar with solution creation processes in general, and be willing to learn and adopt Kodak’s specific processes so that they can be an expert that coaches others.
The Sales Professional is a ‘hunter’ who thrives on identifying, developing and closing new opportunities, introducing the right resources to address the opportunity and the heading back into the hunt. They are fearless and relentless in getting to the opportunity. They are collaborative in defining value. They will do what it takes to drive an opportunity to closure. And they thirst for more.
Responsibilities:
- Identify, qualify and close net new business
- Conduct prospecting activities to identify potential clients
- Engage potential clients in an initial idea-driven discussion to assess interest
- Set an initial meeting to include a consulting Principal
- Drive the selling process
- Provide feedback and enhancements to selling messages over time
- Present and sell company products and services to current and potential clients.
- Prepare action plans and schedules to identify specific targets and to project the number of contacts to be made.
- Follow up on new leads and referrals resulting from field activity.
- Identify sales prospects and contact these and other accounts as assigned.
- Prepare presentations, proposals and sales contracts.
- Develop and maintain current product knowledge.
- Establish and maintain current client and potential client relationships.
- Prepare paperwork to activate and maintain contract services.
- Identify and resolve client concerns.
- Prepare a variety of status reports, including activity, closings, follow-up, and adherence to goals.
- Communicate new product and service opportunities, special developments, information, or feedback gathered through field activity to appropriate company staff.
- Coordinate company staff to accomplish the work required to close sales.
- Develop and implement special sales activities to reduce stock.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Experience:
- A Bachelors degree
- Ability and willingness to travel at least 25%
- A track record of success identifying and closing seven-figure deals in a services and/or technology business
- 4 or more years experience selling in a Services-led delivery environment
- Proven prospecting and lead generation skills
- 4 or more years experience selling into the CPG, Retail, Pharmaceutical or related industries
- Existing senior-level contacts in the CPG, Retail, Pharmaceuticals and related industries
- Demonstrated, exceptional selling skills at the senior executive level
- Successfully achieving $3MM or more per year in services/software sales
- Executive poise and presence
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Self-starter motivated by outcomes, not activities
- Team player
