Position Description: F/T or P/T

 

The Business Development Representative will support both marketing and sales with the goal of generating and qualifying leads. This individual will make outbound cold calling campaigns, warm-lead follow-up, qualification calls, and respond to and qualify inbound inquiries, via the phone, web, email, events, and direct mail. This person is responsible for prompt response to prospects and clients to build successful pipeline for sales while maintaining accurate tracking for analytics.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Engage prospects and clients by asking probing questions to gather information and uncover underlying issues to provide qualified leads to sales
  • Update and complete database records
  • Develop operational knowledge and understanding of the product and services provided and be able to concisely explain these products/services to clients and prospects
  • Make recommendations to management that will improve performance
  • Document all contact efforts and prospect reactions
  • Qualify direct marketing and corporate event leads

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
  • 1-3 years experience working in a marketing support role
  • Aptitude to think on your feet and respond quickly to comments is critical
  • Outstanding open ended probing capability
  • Strong time management, organizational skills, ability to multi-task and attention to detail
  • Self starter and self motivator
  • Experience in cold-calling (identify and develop qualified leads)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage workload with minimal supervision
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint applications is required
