Business Development Representative
We are seeking a professional and hardworking Business Development Representative to be the first point of contact for people looking to sell their businesses. This position entails a great deal phone calling and interacting with business owners. Major responsibilities include activities such as booking & coordinating one-on-one meetings for senior executives, performing consultative sales and handling objections. Employees in this position will be evaluated for the number of calls made and the conversions into meetings.
A typical day for a Business Development Representative will include calling and speaking to people that have come to BCMS to gather more information about selling their businesses. Your job will be to explain the principles of our services and secure their attendance at our seminars or one-on-one consultations. A qualified candidate will have great business sense, as well as, active listening and communication skills. This candidate will speak directly to and advise CEOs, presidents and business owners – so a professional demeanor and presentation are imperative. This is a great position for a highly articulate and organized college grad who seeks a position in a fast growing company.
BCMS Corporate is an internationally respected business advisory firm serving the owners of small and medium-sized private companies. BCMS Corporate began in the United Kingdom over 20 years ago. The founding partners (2 brothers and their father) still run the 200+ employee business like a family enterprise. Expanding to the United States in 2006, BCMS North America has grown quickly, taking on offices in New York, Fort Worth, and Calgary with plans for another office in 2010.
Requirements:
1. College degree (preferably in business or a related field - or the ability to demonstrate a keen business sense)
2. Superior phone skills
3. Professionalism
4. Exceptional communication skills (email, phone and written correspondence)
5. Previous experience in or knowledge of privately held companies is preferred, but not required
Responsibilities:
1. Proactively reaching out and following up with potential clients to offer information & build relationships
2. Assist the senior sales executives
- screen potential clients & gather information about the companies and their owner
- schedule meetings
- administrative functions
3. Research and create a rudimentary analysis of the prospects’ companies
4. Maintain a database of potential clients
