GROUP BUSINESS FINANCE MANAGER – Arlington VA

 

Overview:

We are seeking a well-qualified individual for a position as the company’s Group Business Finance Manager, based out of our Arlington VA office. This position reports to the Vice President of Platform Solutions Group.

 

The role of the Group Business Finance Manager will be to serve as full-time direct support to the Platform Solutions Group and be the Group’s liaison to the Finance Department.   In this role you will be fully familiar with all corporate financial procedures and processes and help assure all operation finance related activities are compliant and coordinated.  The Group Business Finance Manager will become familiar with the financial needs of operations and help assure that the Finance Department is providing necessary information and the reports needed by the operations team.  This position will assist in coordinating all operations financial needs and requirements.

Responsibilities and Job Activities:

·        Financial reporting by project/contract for monthly close results, variance analysis, capital expenditures, invoicing and cash collections, key metrics and volumes, trending analysis, and other relevant information.

·        Enhance & develop reporting and analysis to increase visibility to key business drivers and to drive operational and financial performance improvements. Function as a key, trusted business partner throughout all projects supported and within the sub-lob.

·        Provide ongoing financial modeling and analysis expertise to business partners in support of new business, cost savings, or other opportunities.

·        Ownership of the annual budgeting, quarterly Forecast and on-going processes for the supported units.

·        Support operational account/project managers in the development of regular reporting and analysis, including key metrics reports, and conducting ad-hoc financial analysis as required.

·        Monitor contract financial compliance on a regular, on-going basis including performance versus approved bid model and regulatory requirements.

·        Support/lead Cost/Price Volume production responsibility for complex price proposals.

·        Support/Lead in-depth review of all RFP/RFQ requirements and documentation leading to the creation of detailed compliance matrices in accordance to solicitation requirements.

·        Support price proposals to ensure compliance with government/customer specifications and company policies and procedures.

·        Work to develop procedures and tools for improved information processing and management reports with focus on continuous optimization and improvements.

·        Continually evaluate and prioritize activities and ensure resources are properly aligned with key business priorities.

·        Support Business unit Project Managers, Operations VP, Finance Director and VP as needed.


Qualifications:

·        Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in finance or accounting.

·        Experience with DELTEK CostPoint is a must.

·        Demonstrated understanding of P&L, revenue and expense recognition rules and full accounting close.

·        Experience in government reporting and Earned Value Management Systems.

·        Demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills.

·        Significant experience with MS Office applications and other company standard software and PC systems.

·        Experience with corporate financial and ERP systems and enterprise wide planning and reporting tools.

·        Must work well in team environment and have ability to handle multiple, high priority tasks.

·        Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.

·        Experience working in fast paced and dynamic environment.

·        CPA and / or MBA a plus.
