State Auto Insurance Company, an eighty-eight-year-old, A+ (Superior Rated) property-casualty insurance company has an opening for experienced Business Insurance Account Executive to work from their home and handle a Georgia territory.  The position is found in each region that performs the sales/underwriting functions.  It reports to a business insurance manager who in turn reports directly to the BI RVP.  The incumbent works closely with a business insurance underwriter.  Together with the business insurance manager and the underwriter, the incumbent is responsible for all facets of commercial lines sales and underwriting within the assigned territory.  Specifically, the incumbent works closely with a small number of agencies to develop and underwrite commercial business in accordance with established company guidelines.  The incumbent maintains regular contact with assigned agencies through frequent in-person visits and use of the telephone, FAX transmissions, electronic data transfer, and regular mail.

Qualified applicants must possess a minimum of four years in commercial underwriting with a demonstrated knowledge of sales and agency management techniques.  Additional experience in sales is beneficial.  A college degree or a combination of education and experience deemed an equivalent of a degree is necessary.  Profession insurance designations or completion of courses such as the IIA Underwriting Program, AU 65 and AU 66, two parts CPCU (preferably 551 and 552) are desired.  This position also requires excellent communication, interpersonal, organization and problem solving skills.
