Business Intelligence Analyst

About the Job

The Business Intelligence Analyst (BIA) for MarketView will be responsible for the logical design and implementation of automotive business intelligence Data Warehouse called MarketView. As part of this, he/she will apply subject matter expertise to source, analyze, and validate the automotive data required from internal and external sources. The BIA will also be responsible for data modeling and structuring the data in an efficient, accurate and customer relevant manner. The BIA will also utilize business/technical tools to create physical data entities (such as tables, cubes, metrics, dimensions etc.) that are used for dashboard and report creation.


 


 


Responsibilities:


 



  • Sources and analyzes automotive industry data from internal divisions and external partners.  Manages the relationship with data source providers. Effectively interfaces with legal and security to address concerns about use of data
  • Creates, owns, and maintains the final and intermediate logical and physical data models required to support the MarketView product. Creates data transformation specifications for ETL (Extract Transform Load) programs.
  • Develop data validation procedures, processes, and criteria. 
  • Track coverage/completeness of data versus customer requirements. Create hierarchy of systems to cross reference and supplement data.  Develop metrics and apply analytical tools to analyze the data in order to identify trends and to assess known risks.
  • Initially creates reports and dashboards using appropriate tools. Subsequently, supports report writers and client analysts on questions related to the data. Provides second level support and technical sales support
  • Primary point of contact with the data modeling and forecasting team. Forms bridge between customer needs and report writers on data side and statistical experts who create models to derive values based on available data
  • Interfaces with the DBA (data base administrator) for the physical implementation of the data structures and transformations (ETL)

 


Requirements:


 



  • Strong analytical skills and experience analyzing data in the automotive industry.
  • Data Modeling, Data warehousing, Relational database and SQL experience (working with databases and data warehousing tools)
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities. Technical skills in project management, quality assurance, and technical services planning
  • Problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level
  • Strong customer orientation.  Strong relationship management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skill including presentation skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Outlook, data analysis tools
  • High level of understanding of retail/fleet automotive data and data management systems
  • Leadership: a demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others
  • Bachelors degree In  business, Information Technology, statistics or related field
  • At least 6 years experience with data, preferably in the automotive industry
