Description

We are currently seeking a Business Intelligence Developer. As a member of the Management Information System staff, this position will focus on BI Development, data integration connecting information from disparate systems and integrate to BI for analytics to support strategic initiatives.   The BI Developer will require some knowledge of ASP.NET and C#.NET.   The primary role of the position will be to assist in the expansion of the banks existing BI initiative and database optimization.  This position will act as an integral resource in the expansion SQL 2008 Business Intelligence and information integration and report generation from BI, MCIF and other systems.  The individual will ensure that best practices are met and maintained through the development life cycle and ongoing review.  Under general direction, the incumbent/candidate for this position must be able to lead and evaluate individual projects.  At this level, it is expected that these responsibilities are carried out under direct supervision and/or assignment. 



Required Skills

  1. Assist/lead with the evaluation of solutions based on technical and business need.
  2. Assist/lead the design & implementation of designates solutions utilizing the RTC methodology.
  3. Assist in the continuing development of the IS Operations area in terms of new technologies and development approaches.
  4. Manage non-direct resources on a project basis
  5. Possess understanding of the SDLC or ‘best practices’ in database development.
  6. Keep abreast of developments within database architecture and overall architecture/platform.
  7. Assist with the development, implementation, & management of solutions with internal and external; resources.
  8. Possess experience with data mapping and general data integration practices.
  9. Keep abreast of the advancements of Microsoft’s Business Intelligence platform.
  10. Possess understanding of best practices in development.
  11. Assist with the development, implementation, & management of solutions with internal and external; resources.
  12. Possess experience with data mapping and data integration practices.
  13. Serve as an advocate for Information Services throughout the corporation and liaison to assigned business units.
  14. Under direct supervision and as assigned, provide technical advice and assistance to other departments and staff members with database, system integration and general project issues.

Required Experience

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

* 6+ years of experience working with SQL Server 2000/2005/2008 technologies.

* In depth knowledge of the Microsoft Business Intelligence Platform (Microsoft SQL Server suite, SharePoint, Performance Point, Office 2007)

* Production-level experience working with Microsoft SQL Server including Microsoft Reporting Services (SSRS), Microsoft Integration Services (SSIS), and  Microsoft Analysis Services (SSAS)

* Strong expertise with T-SQL, Stored Procedures, views, schemas.

* Knowledge of performance tuning methodologies

* Prior work with the design of relational and multidimensional databases

* Experience migrating significant data files between mainframe, relational database and other source/targets.

* Demonstrated ability to read and document file layouts, ERD, Data Dictionary and Schemas.

* Strong communication, analytical, and technical skills

* A basic background in .NET application or object oriented development

* Ability to balance multiple projects with attention to detail while meeting deadlines

Pluses:

Financial Industry Experience

Working knowledge of  MS Office Suite

Integration with AS/400 data

 LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
