Business Intelligence Developer


 


General Responsibilities:            


 


The BI Developer is responsible for development of Business Intelligence (BI) reports and ETL scripts. This person is going to serve as both the back up ETL Data Warehouse Admin as well as the Microstrategy Developer.  The ideal will have a couple of years experience with SQL 2005 Server, TSQL in a data warehousing environement and Business Intelligence development skills (Microstategy is ideal but Cognos, Hyperion or Business Objects is sufficient).  If you have other BI development skills, you will be trained on Microstrategy.  Must have strong TSQL, SQL Server 2005 and and BI development skills.


 


Primary Responsibilities:


 


·         SQL 2005 development and administration in a data warehouse environment.


·         ETL development (T-SQL)


·         MicroStrategy development and administration


·         Develop new project objects, including creating new attributes and identifying the proper relationships, creating facts and metrics, and creating user defined reports


·         Create and maintain technical documentation


 


Qualifications/Requirements:


 


·         2 – 3 Years Experience in Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence


·         2 – 3 years of SQL server 2005 experience


·         1 – 2 years of MicroStrategy report development


·         Strong analytical skills to facilitate troubleshooting and interacting with business analysts


·         Highly motivated, organized, detail oriented and a team player


·         Erwin data modeling experience a plus


 


Education Requirements:


 


·         Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience


 


 


Business Intelligence Analyst


 


This person will play a key role and must be able to interface well with their users. They need to be technically savvy but the ability to speak in business terms and get requirements from the users will be a key to your success. Secondarily, the ability to educate users on the capabilities of BI and enhance their user base and use of the tool is also important.  Individuals with MicroStrategy will have priority but if you have other tools (Hyperion, Cognos, Business Objects) then you will be considered as well. 


 


 


·         Able to work closely with business community and understand how BI facilitate and add value to the business users.


·         Must be able to analyze new Business Intelligence Reporting requirements and ability to look for data availability, creation of required attributes, metrics, prompts and filters in Microstrategy and build the report


·         A thorough understanding of relational databases, data model concepts, data warehouse schema and source data. 


·         Strong SQL skills essential to analyze and interpret enterprise data.


·         Strong analytical skills to facilitate troubleshooting and interacting with business analysts


·         Highly motivated, organized, detail oriented and a team player


·         MicroStrategy experience a plus


·         ERP experience a plus
