We seek a Business Process Analyst to work at our world headquarters in Glastonbury, CT.
In this role, you will:
- Function as change agent by working closely with business process owners in creating process maps and documentation to facilitate training and adoption of new business processes or changes to existing ones
- Facilitate process analysis sessions to identify opportunities for process improvements and eliminate NVA (Non-value add) activities
- Analyze and document impact of changes to the business processes being introduced as part of new project implementations
- Work closely with the business community to define project scope and objectives
- Elicit and capture business requirements using business analysis techniques and translate them effectively to the technical team.
- Write detailed process documentation, business requirements and functional specifications for various projects as needed
- Facilitate process Analysis and requirements & functional specification walk-thru sessions
- Compile process documentation and/or training materials to ensure successful adoption of new business processes
- Develop and document test strategy, test plans and test scenarios/cases.
- Participate in system testing activities to ensure the quality of deliverables.
- Work closely with the business in defining the user acceptance test criteria and facilitate User Acceptance Testing sessions as needed
- Track and communicate business issues and software defects.
- Assist the Project Manager in managing project issues and risks
- Coordinate activities with offshore resources including 3rd party implementation teams as needed
- Assist with gathering basic scope and requirements to guide projects through the concept definition phase for governance review
- Work closely with the PMO to define Process & Business Analysis best practices, standards, guidelines and templates
To qualify for this position, you must have:
- At least 1-3 years experience as a Business Process Analyst and/or Business Analyst
- Must have at least 2 years of project work experience
- Ability to analyze and document impact of changes to the business processes being introduced as part of new project implementations. Documents current (AS-IS) and future (TO-BE) processes as needed
- Facilitates process analysis sessions to identify opportunities for process improvements and eliminate NVA (Non-value add) activities
- Ability to function as change agent by working closely with business process owners in creating process maps and documentation to facilitate training and adoption.
- Assists with formalization of new business processes and/or changes to existing processes. Helps define and track metrics to ensure adoption of new processes.
- Assists with defining new policies and standard operating procedures as needed
- Ability to elicit and analyze business requirements and translate them effectively to the technical team.
- Solid knowledge and understanding of business analysis concepts, best practices, tools and techniques.
- Exposure to ERP financial accounting packages like PeopleSoft is desirable.
- Experience with accounting and/or financial applications is a definite plus.
- Should have a good understanding and/or exposure to SDLC concepts, phases and deliverables.
- Must possess excellent documentation skills using MS Visio and MS Word.
- Must be a quick learner with the ability to adjust to multiple demands, address shifting priorities, and to champion change
- Ability to communicate effectively with management, business users, and technical staff.
- A good grasp of system/application concepts with proficiency in MS Office suite
- Exposure to Use Case analysis techniques and Quality Assurance best practices is a big plus
- Strong problem solving, conceptual and analytical skills
- Strong business acumen and ability to grasp business concepts
- Good presentation and facilitation skills
- Strong people, team and customer interaction skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to understand customer needs and manage expectations
- Ability to negotiate, influence, recommend and mediate in a highly matrixed environment
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently
- Certification not required but progress toward attainment of Six sigma and/or Business Analysis certification is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
