| Description | The Business Process Consultant functions as a liaison between Information Technology and departmental business/technical process customers. These associates must marry the needs of a specific business/technical system with the offerings of the current information technology tool set. The Business Process Consultant must be able to think conceptually about information management and communicate those ideas in a non-technical form to their stakeholder community. Inversely, they must be able to think logically about system requirements and communicate those needs to the information technology development staff. |
| Requirements | Experience with Java, Java Script, JSP Programming on the AS/400 is required Experience with CA-Plex on the AS/400 is preferred Developing an understanding of basic cost/benefit analysis methods.
- Some travel will be required.
- This position may also interact with external customers directly. This interaction may take the form of coordinating with a customer's information technology department for EDI, master data, report data and scheduling of jobs.
- This position interacts with the non-information technology business/technical areas to help prioritize and select enhancements to the IT system.
- Associate must participate as an active team member and practice effective collaboration skills.
- Associate must possess basic organizational, communication and time management skills. Should have an excellent track record of completing assignments in a timely and accurate manner.
- Associate must be capable of working under broad supervision and interacting with stakeholders on a regular basis. Must possess creativity and a good listening ear to translate business/technical process into actual practice.
- Developing an understanding of second, cross-functional, business/technical process area.
- Developing an understanding of second information technology toolset.
- Specific understanding of one or more of the current information technology toolsets.
- Specific understanding of the business/technical process area or IT support knowledge for the specific business/technical process area.
- Specific knowledge of the current Office product suite.
- Functional work experience or IT work experience with specific IT technology is desired.
- Functional work experience or IT support work experience in the specific business/technical process area (2-year minimum for either).
- Associate or Bachelors Degree in related discipline or equivalent business/technical process work experience. Equivalent work experience must include: 8 years specific business/technical process experience or equivalent IT support of said business/technical process; 1-3 years current information technology toolset experience.

| Tasks | - Review, analyze and evaluate business/technical system requirements. Make recommendations as to how IT technologies can best be used to support the business/technical strategies.
- Implement new strategies through configuration interaction and creation of programming specifications for Information Technology Development staff.
- Complete life-cycle testing (unit and integration) of all work processes including cross-business/technical unit interaction.
- Provide system-wide support and maintenance for a complex business/technical process. Perform tasks necessary to ensure data and tables are maintained properly and on schedule.
- Respond to problems by conferring with the stakeholder community and making joint decisions on how error correction should occur. Draw solutions from others and recommend courses of action.
- Write and maintain all documentation supporting primary area of responsibility. This documentation may serve as input.
- Expand use of current technologies and interrelated business/technical process areas, as they apply to Goodyear. Increase breadth and depth of knowledge in these areas by attending training classes, reading courseware and interacting with others more expert in said area.
