The General Electric Company initiated Gensuite in February 2000 as an engine for compliance process digitization. Gensuite Web application modules are now in use by Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) as well as other organizations/functions such as quality, compliance, sourcing, security/crisis management in both GE and former GE businesses. This fast-growing user base of over 75,000 currently registered users has resulted in the need for motivated individuals interested in joining a highly talented group of professionals in a variety of disciplines, including Web application programming/development, business analysts/IT application implementation, and support techs.
Job Description:
Develop, and design customer applications specific to their business needs. Consults with managerial and systems analysis personnel to clarify program intent, identify problems, suggest changes, and determine extent of programming and coding required.
Analyze informational requirements, develop database specifications, and enforce all database standards.
Manage web applications and direct the operational environments to ensure efficient service to users and provide stability and development for customer user community. Applications - Plan, control and direct application development projects, ensuring that they are completed to specification.
Consult, and facilitate customer calls for specialized services and applications to determine best application usage, and enhanacments.
Advise as the expert for specialized applications, troubleshooting software errors for end users.
Responsibilities will include execution of projects across various e-business disciplines such as customer support, user training, application documentation, and new application implementation for a customized set of internally developed GE web-applications.
Education/ Experience Requirements:
B.S. degree in Information Systems/Computer Science, engineering/science fields and computer-related training/skills
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have excellent communication and teamwork skills, a strong interest in working with web-based applications, as well as a record of initiative and creativity.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
