Title: Business Systems Analyst II or Sr. - Merchandising Applications This job posting contains multiple openings. In addition to the general job description, specific responsibilities related to those roles may include: • Requirements Definition and Management Analysis and Use Case development for Merchandising projects. • SuperFUSION Oracle Deployment – this project touches major components across our company including Marketing, Merchandising, Finance and Retail operations. • Product Specialist for Vendor Purchased Merchandising Applications (Oracle Retail / ADC). Experience in requirements definition / product analysis. Experience desired in Grocery / Retail and with Oracle Retail (Retek) application • Responsible for the definition, design, development and delivery of identified integrations and interfaces linking legacy and third party systems leveraging various technologies, tools, and processes. • Works with the Oracle program on the analysis and implementation of store level inventory application. Close interaction with the business and IT areas on requirements, configuration and implementation of the application. • Dedicated to Oracle Retail Release 2 projects including Retail Price Optimization and/or Promotional Intelligence & Promotional Planning Optimization. A background in merchandising systems is desired but not a requirement. • Data Rationalization & Migration Team – will accept new data requests (data requests are data monitors-web based reports to monitor data anomalies) and conduct high level discussions with business to understand their data needs/data monitors. Responsible for end to end process for developing data requests.
PRIMARY FUNCTION
The Business Systems Analyst II is responsible for gathering and translating business and/or technical needs in to relevant documentation for assigned projects. The BSA II is responsible for establishing consensus among stakeholders and/or project team members in relationship to assigned deliverables. The BSA II provides leadership and a collaborative approach to integrating the stakeholder needs with the project activities and facilitating communication across the project and IT service teams involved in solution development related activities. The BSA II demonstrates the ability to perform job functions in an independent manner, with limited coaching. The BSA II is capable of performing on multiple projects and can be assigned as mentor to work closely with BSA I and peer team members, guiding them to execute job functions and related processes in alignment with company standards
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES
• Performs gathering, analysis, documentation, and validation of business and / or technical needs using interviews, workshops, modeling techniques. • Documents business and / or technical needs using textual, and visual, modeling deliverables designed to help SUPERVALU meet its strategic objectives, in accordance with the SUPERVALU methodology. • Facilitates small to medium sized groups of individuals, representing significant diversity in interest and level of leadership, to a common understanding of a solution. • Fosters team building and self-driven skill development through active participation in appropriate training, mentoring, and certification programs. • Consults with subject matter experts and project team members to identify and document potential business and technology solutions, • Identifies, manages, and tracks business and technical needs objectives throughout the project’s lifecycle. • Identifies and communicates project issues and risks to the IT and business unit management with suggested mitigation and resolution approach options. • Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of assigned functional domains, and their integrations with other functional domains, while analyzing retail industry trends and researching functional best practices. • Coordinates project or initiative tasks with relevant team members, stakeholders and leadership. • Manages day-to-day business interaction and business expectations in relationship to assigned deliverables, with the guidance of functional manager, project manager, and mentor. • Builds strong relationships with business stakeholders, subject matter experts, functional domain leadership, and other IT disciplines and service teams. • Participates in the mentoring of other BSA resources.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education, Certification, and Relevant Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related discipline or; • 3-5 years relevant work experience • Preferred work experience in IT, retail, or supply chain organization. • Demonstrates strong public speaking and presentation skills. • Demonstrate strong facilitation skills with the ability to drive toward common solutions. • Demonstrate strong interviewing, listening, and observational skills used to identify and define business and technical needs. • Demonstrate strong analytical and conceptual skills used to evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, while reconciling discrepancies. • Demonstrate strong analytical modeling skills (models that clearly and easily communicate concepts to customers). • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong customer focus and demonstrated ability to work in geographically dispersed teams • Ability to manage competing priorities • Must have strong computer skills and be proficient in use of Microsoft Office applications
