Participate in the planning, testing, and deployment of releases and upgrades of Operations and Performance applications. Lead components of major initiatives (e.g. the accurate scope and planning of a project including establishing milestones and implementation plans). Gather user and system requirements, develop specifications for Operations and Performance systems. Conducts business and systems requirements analysis at code and data level such as data mapping, and data conversion analysis. Analyze the business processes in terms of activities, workflow, and dataflow. Facilitate the creation of testing documentation and manage testing process on a specific project, especially for Performance and Investment accounting applications. Research, track and communicate business issues and software defects related to projects and level 2 applications support. Participates and supports post implementation process including end user training. Working with Program Manager, define standards for future business analysis efforts.
Who we're looking for The Business Systems Analyst must comprehend and organize a collection of business requirements and communicate those requirements to application developers.The candidate should have a minimum of 5-8 years of experience working as an IT business systems analyst in the financial services industry. Negotiate technical and non-technical solutions that both satisfy the business user and conform to the technical architecture. Strong understanding of global investment portfolio accounting and corporate actions processing. Strong understanding of investment processes, accounting and performance measurement systems, workflows and data. Familiarity with investment portfolio performance measurement methodologies. Solid MS Project /Visio and MS Office application skills. Working knowledge of SQL (Microsoft SQL Server and Sybase). Working knowledge of Unix a plus. Experience with portfolio accounting systems such as HiNet, performance measurement systems such as StatPro and FactSet and fixed income systems such as Aladdin. Previous direct responsibility for writing structured business requirements, functional specifications, test plans and test cases. Senior level competency, project management communication and evaluation skills (e.g. options analysis, status reports, minutes, presentations and GAP analysis). BS degree in MIS, BA or related discipline
