Our client located in Charlottesville, VA is looking for a Java Developer for a 3 – 6 month contract to hire position.

Position Summary:

Designs, develops, analyses, debugs and maintains client’s software applications and technologies to meet user requirements. Develops, modifies and maintains applications that may be customized or standardized.  Participates in the software development lifecycle (SDLC) as appropriate. Serves in a lead capacity on high priority enhancements, training new hires, and devoting additional time to analyze system performance.

Experience:

Minimum four or more years experience in a developer or programming capacity or equivalent experience. Experience should include working with Java, C, C++ or C#; Databases and SQL; markup languages such as HTML or XML; and Windows OS.  Preferred experience should include Java, Flash and ActionScript; the .NET framework; JRun; ASP or ASP.NET; HTML and XSL.  Extensive technical training in new and emerging development technologies.  Extensive experience working in all phases of development cycle and within a team environment.  

Specific Skills:

Strong knowledge of several coding languages and conventions.  Technologies include Java, JRun, Flash, ActionScript, SQL, ASP.NET, C#, XSLT, XML and HTML.   Experience utilizing project planning tools. 

Special knowledge, licenses, etc.:

Advanced theoretical understanding of programming principles.  Knowledge of relational database tables, Java, Flash, C#, SQL and Microsoft Office.

Education:

BA or BS in Computer Science or a related field and equivalent on-the-job experience.
