Job Description

Sr Business Systems Analyst

This position will manage the development and analysis of business requirements for multiple corporate project initiatives and interface with business and technology partners to ascertain and develop client implementation and technology-based requirements, track them to completion, and ensure requirements meet the stated strategic goals for the product and/or implementation.

This position will also recommend alternative approaches to satisfying business requirements based on detailed analyses and will become a subject matter expert on the business functionality for the HMS applications and platforms.

In summary, this position will translate short and long term product strategy and client implementation goals into business and technology requirements.

- Participates in the development of new product offerings by summarizing the features and functionality of the product; ensuring the benefits identified are attained and business needs are satisfied. Among other things, this includes producing a scope document by participating in a concept review; determining project scope and sizing; incorporating cost/benefit analyses.
- Ensures continuity of business services by serving as a subject matter expert on business functionality and impact of system changes on multiple product platforms; supporting internal departments regarding business functionality for development initiatives; liaising between the business and technical teams to ensure technical understanding of the appropriate business requirements; providing insight to alternative means of meeting business needs; and maintaining a clear understanding of project statuses throughout the SDLC (Services Development Life Cycle).
- Deliver Analysis documentation by identifying requirements and meeting with internal/external clients.
- Ensures all requirements are met by creating traceability matrix and technical designs meet business functionality.
- Validates the satisfaction of all requirements by developing, executing and evaluating test cases and scenarios; reviewing test results; and making recommendations to management. This includes test environment set up and maintenance; business test plan creation; test script execution including positive, negative, regression, integration and performance testing where applicable; and test automation as needed.
- Identifies business impact of making changes to the most complex products by determining impact of system changes; translating product management business strategy and objectives into business requirements; performing detailed analysis such as screen and functional design, business processes, and the end-to-end mapping of data processing flows for both inbound and outbound data feeds.
- Act as a mentor and resource by providing guidance and instruction in the execution of the Project Methodology with respect to the Business Architecture roles, responsibilities and deliverables.
- Provides status updates by presenting project results of each phase of the SDLC to the project team, senior management and clients.
- Supports achievement of project milestones by acting as a business functionality subject matter expert on multiple products or systems; monitoring project plan; participating in weekly meetings; coordinating deliverables between clients, partners, associates and vendors.

Requirements
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience writing business requirements and/or technical specifications.
- 1-2 years of software development experience is a plus.
- Healthcare experience a plus.
- Experience delivering presentations to external clients and senior management.
- Experience in using analytical tools and processes.
- Strong familiarity with MS Office applications such as Excel, PowerPoint, MS Word, Visio, MS Access, etc. Strong working knowledge of HTML.
- Strong familiarity with SQL, Oracle, or similar Data Base management software.
- Strong familiarity with Rules Based processing such as Fair Isaac Corporations Blaze tool is a plus.
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Strong internal drive for working independently at times.
- Ability to handle and prioritize numerous projects while respecting deadlines.
