We have an immediate need for a Business Systems Analyst.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
. Role/Title: Business/Systems Analyst
Role Description:
This analyst will perform Business Analysis, Data Analysis and testing activities on production support and projects for web-based financial compensation systems. This analyst will prepare test plans and test scripts and will need to have a good understanding of database concepts and have strong SQL skills. The analyst will occasionally gather detailed business requirements and document functional specifications. They will report to the product manager and will interact with business users, technical teammates, and other parts of the IT organization.
Responsibilities (Deliverables):
- Research and participate in resolution of production issues on compensation systems
- Perform data analysis by understanding the relational databases, write and execute SQL statements
- Write test plans, scripts for validation of production issues.
Required Skill set:
- Must have at least three years of business and/or system analyst experience
- Must understand relational databases and be able to write and execute SQL statements.
- Must have demonstrated leadership, time management, and negotiation skills.
- Must have excellent communications skills with previous experience working directly with technical teams.
- Must be able to interact and liaison with business partners and other technical teams.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Must have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Must have experience writing functional specifications.
- Must have knowledge of standard project methodology processes (e.g. requirements analysis techniques, testing approaches, etc.).
- Must have comprehensive testing skills including the ability to ensure that the system is meeting all defined requirements.
- Must have experience writing test cases and executing test scripts.
- Must understand basic business concepts such as accounting and payroll.
- Must understand basic programming and design concepts.
- Must be able to work additional hours when necessary.
- Must be a team player.
- A nice-to have is some exposure to relevant project technologies such as .NET, Oracle, and DB2/UDB.
Business Knowledge Needed:
- Definite plus if the candidate has understanding of the financial industry, especially securities brokerage.
Additional Capabilities Needed:
- Definite plus if the candidate has experience with compensation
