Senior Business Advisor / Sales / Inside B2B Sales / Business Development

The Carolina Business Professional Association’s mission is to protect the economic vitality of the region by supporting the small business community.  Our organization assists North and South Carolina small business owners with acquiring new customers for their businesses.  We are currently expanding our Business Development Team.

As a Sr. Business Advisor you will speak with small business owners to help them identify a potential customer base that is most likely to utilize their service or product. You will contact prospective customers (by telephone) on behalf of the small business owner and introduce the clients product to them. We perform awareness campaigns only; therefore you are not required to “close sales”. You will have a set group of 30-40 clients that will remain constant over time. 

The most successful candidate will have inside sales experience, general knowledge in an industry or discipline that you can translate into your role as business advisor to the small business owner (ex: manufacturing, logistics, retail, service industries etc.), a bachelor degree and 20+ years of work experience. There will also be opportunities to represent the organization at community events. This position is ideal for someone making a transition into a second career. 

You must be able to independently manage your time; have experience with computers and be familiar with Microsoft Word and Excel.  You must be comfortable making cold calls to prospective clients and have a pleasant telephone voice while using proper English diction. 

Our organization stresses work / life balance and financial independence.  We have a small staff of 7-8 individuals in a very relaxed environment. Our hours are 8:00am – 4:00pm Monday –Thursday and 8:00am -12:00 noon on Friday.    Our office is easily accessed from South Blvd or I-77 at the Woodlawn Rd. exit.

Sr. Business Advisors are paid a base salary beginning at $1,600 per month and increasing to $2,000 per month generally within 4-6 weeks. They are also paid commissions and receive an annual bonus.  The Sr. Business Advisors total compensation averages $71,000. Must be able to begin work on November 16, 2009.
