Corning Harrodsburg is a dynamic environment servicing three divisions in Corning and producing products to supply a rapidly growing market segment. At the same time, Harrodsburg is the hot glass manufacturing development center, using fusion melting and forming technology to take on the challenges of late stage manufacturing for new products to Corning. The contrast between these two roles represents an exciting, challenging and rewarding work environment. This position reports into the Harrodsburg Supply Chain Supervisor – Procurement. The primary focus will be managing activities required for the procurement of goods and services in Harrodsburg.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
Vendor management activities including: ads, changes, NDA’s, COI’s, match exceptions, etc.
Order acknowledgment management
Change order management
P&T MBO participation and management
Assigned objectives from HaKY Supply Chain
Assigned project activity
Travel Requirements: 5% travel required
Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time: Monday - Friday schedule with the potential for evening, weekend or holiday coverage as needed.
Required Education: Bachelor Required Years and Area of Experience: 1-3 years' of procurement experience preferred
Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail
Strong decision making and problem solving skills
Comprehensive PC skills including a thorough knowledge of MS suite applications and ability to pull system data for analysis.
Ability to learn manufacturing software as well as plant and corporate procurement software
Strong desire to learn and grow knowledge of Corning and procurement best practices
Willingness to receive feedback and grow
Ability to effectively communicate key messages and information to leadership
Forward thinking with the ability to anticipate and plan for upcoming needs
