The Buyer will be responsible for all aspects of merchandise selection, vendor negotiation, as well as fashion trend and forecasting sense.

Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Coordinates requirements, specifications, timing, and distribution for merchandise selection

·         Develop strategies and criteria for negotiations

·         Evaluate competitive offerings to determine the overall best offer for a product/service

·         Resolve quality problems with suppliers and user departments

·         Participate in cross-functional teams

·         Manage and develop Assistant and/or Associate Buyers

·         Develop effective supplier relationships

·         Develop/manage/evaluate relationships with other internal departments

·         Build the Brands in all activities; inclusive of quality and timely execution

·         Coordinate with marketing and visual departments for sales promotion and visual direction

·         Maintain and update open-to-buy daily, weekly and monthly

Qualifications:

·         Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Merchandising or related field preferred

·         5 years experience as Buyer required

·         Previous retail apparel experience required

·         Proficient in Word and Excel.

·         Must be detailed oriented and able to multi-task

·         Excellent organizational, presentation and communication skills.

·         Ability to act as liaison between many departments.
