Webster is searching for a Buyer who under the direction of the Senior Buyer, conducts plant buying activities and managing of material inventories and replenishment in assigned areas.  Processes orders, maintains inventory levels and executes procedures.

• Conducts and oversees inventory management and procurement of color concentrates, scents, twist ties, maintenance and repair parts and equipment and office supplies
  
• Seeks adequate sources for all purchased items for which responsible, while maintaining positive vendor relationships, high quality and service levels at competitive pricing levels.
  
• Monitors adherence to quality standards of materials being purchased to prevent loss of production or unnecessary downtime.
  
• Negotiates rates, purchase prices with material vendors for annual contracts including color concentrate, scent, other additives.
  
• Reacts to plant emergencies 24/7.

Qualifications:

BS in Business or Technical degree preferred

Three to five years experience in a purchasing environment, majority of time as a buyer.  CPM certification a plus. Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Word/Excel and purchasing systems a must.

Working familiarity with Film Extrusion and packaging a plus.  Able to effectively and efficiently negotiate with vendors and develop business relationships. Able to travel about the plants without limitation.
