We are seeking a Protein Buyer to join our team.  The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years experience working in the food industry, ideally within the protein category.  Must have an understanding of food manufacturing.

Position Summary:

Procure food products and ensure that the highest quality food products are provided at the lowest cost to Good Source.   The buyer will accurately perform market analysis to support procurement decisions as well as execute transactional order processing and resolve internal customer issues.

Essential Duties & responsibilities:

• Work with department Head to understand corporate sourcing strategy
  
• Foster & maintain good relationships with targeted suppliers
  
• Foster strong relationships with internal users

Qualifications

* Minimum of 3 years procurement experience in Food Industry (protein a plus)

*Understanding of operational aspects of company (freight, shipping, etc.)

*Strong negotiation skills

*Excellent communication skills (verbal & written)

*Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, dynamic environment
