Solidus is looking for a software programmer to aid in the development of a video processing demonstration.  The objective is to assist in the design and implementation of an application that will incorporate video management (efficient retrieval and processing of archived video data), algorithms for analyzing video, and an interface allowing users to view data from multiple cameras and operate the relevant video analysis capabilities.  This assignment will place an emphasis on designing sophisticated user interfaces that manage computationally intensive back-end video processing tasks.  In addition, later versions of the demonstration may incorporate input from either live camera systems or handheld devices, so experience performing systems integration with embedded applications is considered an advantage.

Initial prototyping and testing has been done using Matlab, but the final demonstration will likely be implemented using C/C++ or Java.

-  U.S. Citizenship and eligibility to obtain a Department of Defense Security Clearance (current clearance is a plus)
-  B.S. or above in Computer Science or equivalent field
-  Strong proficiency developing C/C++ or Java
-  Experience managing video data in C/C++ or Java
-  Experience with user interface construction in C/C++ or Java
-  Familiarity with Matlab (and the construction of mex files)
-  Familiarity with specialized libraries for media processing and large matrix operations
-  Experience with systems integration and embedded applications on handheld devices
-  Basic familiarity with common image processing operations (such as filtering, computing histograms, etc)
